Here She Comes.......!!!! (long post warning)

This is super late...but August 24 was the day our Lacey-Grace came into the world! It was such an exciting day (well.....looking back lol) Before I start with the day of, let me first say that the Friday before (Aug 22) I only slept a total of 3 hours and was WIDE awake the rest of the night. Then on Saturday, we left the church at 6 am to go to an AWANA meeting and returned around 9 that night.  On the way home, my back started hurting a little but that was due to sitting ALL day long. About 8:00 the top of my stomach started hurting pretty bad and then I began vomiting (normal for my pregnancy).  I figured my body was just tired from the extreme long day and lack of sleep.  I decided to just sleep it off! I woke up at 1 am still in pain and it was more severe and still vomiting. So I did what every girl would do......called my mom :) She told me to call the hospital,  but I knew I wasn't in labor and did not want to go, just to be sent home. But, I knew something was not right! So I gave in, woke up Daniel at 1:20 and he said we are going to the hospital. We were there by 2:00. (I had even called my doctor waiting for her to call me back, but she never did so we just decided to go to the hospital) I had only 6 hours of sleep in almost two days....

They monitored me for a while, but said my contractions were too far apart. Then they checked some lab work and there was some stuff going on wrong with my liver (causing the pain) and my blood pressure was 150/99 or something....so they decided to induce me due to preeclampsia. I was scared of the pain of being induced...so I immediately asked about my epidural! lol They took me to labor and delivery and then gave me my epidural before the pitocin! (I was thankful) My family arrived about lunch time and Daniel's family later that afternoon. Labor was extremely long!! I felt like the epidural kept wearing off so they gave me more pain medicine off and on. Then late afternoon, I started to feel back labor....not good!!! They gave me a little more pain medicine and then told me I couldn't have any more. (something about it could go into my lungs) They were also concerned about her breathing on her own due to me being on magnesium for so long. Therefore, we had to have a special NICU team in the room when she was born. That is about all I remember due to being absolutely exhausted! I was thankful when about 9:30 they told I was at 10cm!!! We all cheered lol She was born about a hour and half later at 10:52 pm, weight 7 lb, 2 oz. She immediately breathed on her own so no NICU team was ever needed! Praise the Lord!! I was so glad she was here and no more pain!! HA

I was kept on a magnesium IV for 24 hours, which made the next day rough. Then they were concerned about my platelet levels (they kept dropping) so they wanted me to have a blood transfusion. Um.....no thank you please!!!! So they monitored till the next morning and they remained the same so no blood transfusion! After being off the IV, I was finally allowed to get out of bed and began to feel better :) Then we had to stay two more days for Lacey-Grace's bili levels to come down and my blood pressure. Thankfully, they let us come home on Thursday! We kept taking her to the doctors for her bili levels to be checked and she stayed on a bili blanket for a week. This is not the experience I ever had in mind with being induced (last thing I wanted) and her having trouble with her bili levels. BUT it was an experience I am forever grateful for and one I will always remember! We LOVE our baby girl beyond any expression!

Pregnancy Update

Life has been a whirlwind since my last update. On April 15th we found out some exciting news! We were scheduled for my twenty week anatomy scan. It was a good appointment, although someone did NOT want to cooperate! :) The ultrasound tech tried several different things to try and tell us whether we were having a boy/girl and nothing seemed to work. She finally told me not to panic (I think she noticed my facial expressions lol) because she always won the battle and I would not leave without knowing! lol Finally after trying different types of ultrasounds....baby decided to cooperate! She left the image on the screen and just looked at me. Finally, she said that is what I have been looking for....It's a GIRL! I just said WHAT! LOL and then started to cry and Daniel just laughed :) (btw: I had happy tears) For some reason, we both just knew we were having a boy, but would have been happy either way!!! We were shocked but SO excited! We already knew her name.....Lacey-Grace!

I have had a lot of fun planning everything out! Although, I already knew what direction I wanted to go with the nursery for the last year! lol I had it planned out for a boy and girl! (I have a tendency to have OCD sometimes :) I am now 33 weeks pregnant and counting down the weeks! I remained sick on a consistent basis until about 28 weeks. I don't seem to be getting sick as much now, but some days it comes back. It is not everyday, so for that I am thankful! :) My past few doctors appts have gone well and they think she is not breech anymore! YAY!  Now we are trying to get things settled in the nursery! We cannot wait to hold our little girl and I can't wait to just get a glimpse of her little face! :)

Until Next Time,

Exciting Update!

I cannot believe it has been almost a year since my last blog! Sorry about that! To give a quick update on the past year, summer went by fast but we did manage to visit Atlanta for a few days and attend a Braves baseball game and tour the stadium! Fall went by quickly, we both celebrated our birthdays by going to Charleston! For our anniversary this year, we decided to go on a cruise. It is the best vacation and literally gets you away from everything! We went back to the Bahamas! It was so much fun and our vacation together is always one of the highlights of my year!

The biggest change from my last blog we found out at Christmas.....we are adding an addition to our family of two! We are so excited for September! I am trying to savor each day with just me and Daniel though! We will find out in April what we are having at my twenty week anatomy scan. A lot of people have asked if I have been sick and unfortunately the answer is yes. It did seem to go away for about two weeks around fourteen and fifteen weeks. However, since Sunday of this week it has come back like a storm, have not been able to keep much down. My doctor prescribed me another dose of zofran, so I am counting on feeling better! Life is quickly changing and we are excited and holding on for the ride!

Until Next Time,
~Camille
